Welcome. I’m Dr. Patrick A. Mansfield (he/they), a Licensed Acupuncturist and Board-Certified Herbalist. I received my master’s and doctoral degrees in Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine from Emperor’s College in Santa Monica, CA, on the native land of the Tongva and Chumash people.

My doctoral research centered on the use of acupuncture to treat chronic prostatitis/chronic pelvic pain syndrome. This work not only deepened my clinical focus but has also laid the foundation for my first book, which will explore holistic approaches to men’s health.

This ongoing project reflects my commitment to expanding the conversation around men’s wellness, and integrating modern clinical insights with traditional healing practices.

A cornerstone to my role as a doctor is taking my one-on-one work with patients out of the private clinic room and into the community. During my doctoral studies I participated in a yearlong residency as volutneer acupuncturist at the HIV/AIDS advocacy and wellness center, Being Alive. This time spent serving the HIV/AIDS community lead me to volunteer on the medical team for the final AIDS/Lifecycle ride in 2025.

Additionally, from the inception of my practice I’ve opened myself to collaborating with colleagues in providing community style care at low to no-cost.

Tapping into the well-being of the collective is what ignites my passion most deeply. I believe that we can only support our individual health when we fully address the health of the community. By pivoting between private practice and community care, I aim to serve both while continuing to fine tune my approaches to healing.

I am currently a professor in the Herbal Medicine Department at the European Institute of Integrative Health Sciences. In addition to teaching, I develop and lead courses that explore the core philosophies of Traditional Chinese Medicine – particularly as they relate to the creative process, alchemical principles, and the energetics of herbs and herbal preparations.
